Odisha Vigilance has instituted another case against Kishore Kumar Sahani, Senior Assistant at City Hospital under the Office of the CDMO, Cuttack, for allegedly misappropriating government funds worth over Rs 1.24 crore.

According to officials, the case was registered under Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No. 24 dated 21.08.2025, under Section 13(2) read with Section 13(1)(c) of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018. 

The embezzlement pertains to user fee collections during Sahani’s tenure at City Hospital. He has been remanded to judicial custody till September 16, 2025.

This comes shortly after Sahani’s arrest on 23rd August 2025 in a separate case, where Odisha Vigilance found him in possession of disproportionate assets to the tune of 201% beyond his known sources of income. The official reportedly failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for the assets.

During the vigilance raid, it was revealed that Sahani owns 19 high-value plots, a poultry firm, and bank and insurance deposits amounting to Rs 44.46 lakh. He also possesses one four-wheeler (Hyundai Santro) and three two-wheelers. Officials said further scrutiny is underway to ascertain his other investments and assets.

In connection with the disproportionate assets case, Vigilance also registered Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No. 25/23.08.2025 against Sahani and his spouse under Sections 13(2) read with 13(1)(b)/12 of the PC (Amendment) Act, 2018.

Officials confirmed that further investigation is under in both matters.
