Vigilance officials on Thursday carried out extensive and coordinated raids at seven locations in Sundargarh, including the residence of Bishwadarshi Sahu, the Project Administrator of the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA).
This operation is part of a larger investigation into allegations of disproportionate assets held by the official, raising serious concerns about corruption within the ITDA.
The vigilance department's raids covered several important places, including Bhubaneswar, Balasore, Jajpur, and Bonai, linked to Bishwadarshi Sahu.

In Bhubaneswar, the Vigilance team raided a multistoried building at Sriramanagar and flats at Lakshmisagar and Kharavela Nagar.
As per sources, the raid was prompted by a slew of complaints against the ITDA official, accusing him of amassing wealth through dubious, unexplained sources.
These complaints against Sahu reportedly outlined a pattern of financial irregularities, compelling such decisive action by the Vigilance department on Thursday.

Nine high-value plots linked to the officer were traced in Bhubaneswar and Puri.

In Bhubaneswar, he owns a multi-storied building apart from two flats. One of the two-story houses was found at Sriramanagar, Old Town while he owns one flat at Lakshmisagar and another one at Kharavela Nagar.

He has deposited an advance amount of Rs 15.75 lakh for another flat.

So far 150 grams of gold confiscated.

Rs 2.05 lakh cash recovered.
As the vigilance team conducted raids at seven locations following the allegations of disproportionate assets, Sahu's houses at Bhubaneswar, Balasore, Jajpur and Bonai (Sundargarh) also came under the scanner.
Further disclosures about the nature of his untaxed assets will emerge after the raid is completed, said sources.
