Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to embark on a two-day visit to Odisha beginning May 10, during which he will attend several key events, lay the foundation stones for multiple developmental projects, and address a public gathering in the capital city of Bhubaneswar.

The visit, seen as politically significant with preparations already underway for Amit Shah’s visit, was confirmed by state BJP president Manmohan Samal on Friday.

As per the itinerary shared by Samal, Amit Shah will arrive in Bhubaneswar on May 10 and will immediately proceed to Jatni. There, he is slated to lay the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art National Forensic Science University campus. The establishment of this institution is expected to strengthen the state’s forensic capabilities and enhance academic infrastructure in the field of criminal justice and investigation sciences.

Later in the evening on the same day, the Union Minister will travel to the holy town of Puri, where he is expected to offer prayers at the revered Jagannath Temple, seeking the blessings of Lord Jagannath.

Following the event in Sambalpur, the Union Minister will return to Bhubaneswar. In the evening, he will attend a grand public gathering at Janata Maidan, where he will address party workers, supporters, and citizens. In addition to delivering a speech, Shah is also expected to lay the foundation stone for more developmental initiatives during the event.

Party leaders and workers across Odisha have been gearing up for Shah’s visit, which is being viewed as a major boost to the BJP's campaign efforts in the state. The two-day tour is expected to focus on both governance and political outreach, reinforcing the Centre’s commitment to Odisha’s development.
