In a move to enhance passenger convenience, the service schedule of train No-20835/20836 Rourkela-Puri-Rourkela Vande Bharat Express has been revised, sources said on Wednesday.

Currently operating daily except Saturday, the train will now run daily except Tuesday.
Revised service schedule will be as follows:
Weekly off day i.e. on Tuesday will commence with effect from 3rd June 2025 and the operational day on Saturday will commence with effect from 7th June 2025.
• 20836 Puri-Rourkela Vande Bharat Express is leaving from Puri at 0500 hrs and arriving at Rourkela at 1245 hrs.
• 20835 Rourkela-Puri Vande Bharat Express leaving from Rourkela at 1410 hrs and reaching Puri at 2140 hrs.
There will be no change in the train’s timings and stoppages at nominated stations.
Passengers are requested to take note of the revised service days and plan their journeys accordingly.

The Vande Bharat Express has a maximum operating speed of 160 km/h (99 mph) in regular service, although it achieved 183 km/h (114 mph) during trial runs. This makes it one of the fastest trains in India, significantly reducing travel times compared to conventional trains.

As of January 2025, there are 136 Vande Bharat trains operating across India, providing chair car services to various destinations. This network has been expanding rapidly to improve connectivity across the country.
