According to sources, the Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) officer, identified as Sarthak Saurabh Mohapatra, serving as Deputy General Manager (DGM) at OSDMA (Odisha State Disaster Management Authority), is facing serious allegations of domestic violence and neglect. His wife, Archana Dash, an Assistant Executive Engineer in the Panchayati Raj and Water Resources Department, has complained against him at the Mahila Police Station.

As per the complaint, Archana had given birth to a baby boy on May 7 at a private hospital. However, her husband, Sarthak allegedly refused to accept the newborn, and he left the health facility, abandoning both mother and child on the hospital bed.

Archana further alleged that she had been subjected to mental and physical harassment by her husband, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law soon after marriage, despite the union being arranged with the consent of both families. She claimed that the abuse began just a few months after their wedding and continued without intervention.

“My husband has left me and our child by abandoning us in the hospital. It has been nearly three months, and he has not yet seen the child. The baby was born on May 7, and he left us early in the morning on May 10. Even, I got myself discharged from the hospital,” Archana said.

While Archana approached the police seeking justice and protection, Sarthak, when asked about the allegations, responded very briefly, saying, "I will answer everything at the police station.”

This case has sparked public attention, especially as it involves senior government officials. Legal proceedings are expected to unfold in the coming days as the probe continues.
