As a mark of punishment for using mobile phone, a head master of a school in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj allegedly barred two girl students from attending the school and also the hostel.
The concerned students' guardians have filed a complaint against the Head Master, Subala Chandra Das, of Parbati Girls' High School at Badadalima village under Tiring block in the district.
The incident came to light on Saturday following a formal complaint filed against the school's principal. The two 10th grade students have been allegedly facing difficulties in their studies, as they have not been able to attend classes for nearly three months due to the punishment.

The guardians of the students expressed deep concern about the future of their children's education, especially with the upcoming board examinations. They worried that their daughters would be at a disadvantage due to the extended disruption in their education.
In response to the complaints, the Additional District Education Officer (ADEO) reportedly visited the school to investigate the matter further. However, no comments could be obtained from the Head Master regarding the allegations. Additionally, it is alleged that the Head Master misbehaved with media personnel who attempted to gather more information about the incident.

Chandramohan Murmu, one of the guardians of the students, shared his concerns, stating, “I went to meet the ADEO today. It’s been three months since the students’ classes were disrupted. We are worried because the board exams are fast approaching. They were reportedly watching a movie, which led to them being barred from both the school and the hostel.”
The District Education Officer (DEO) has assured that the matter will be thoroughly investigated, and appropriate actions will be taken if any evidence of misconduct is found.
