Continuous rainfall due to a low-pressure system has led to a significant rise in the river water levels across Odisha. In Bhadrak district, the Baitarani River has touched the danger mark at Akhuapada anicut. As of 2 PM, the water level was reportedly flowing exactly at the danger mark of 18.33 meters.

The district administration is on high alert and fully prepared to tackle any emergency situation arising out of the flood. As per sources, Dhamnagar and Bhandaripokhari blocks are likely to be the most affected areas.
