The long-awaited railway connectivity to Purunakatak Railway Station in Boudh is set to become a reality soon, as the final safety inspection has been completed. The East Coast Railway Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS), along with Sambalpur DRM Tushar Kant Pandey, conducted a thorough examination of security arrangements along the route.

The inspection was carried out in two phases—on the first day, officials reviewed the stretch between Boudh and Champapur stations, and on the second day, from Champapur to Purunakatak. A 10-member team assisted the CRS in the inspection process using five train trolleys to examine track elevation, gauge measurement, and signal system functionality.

Upon reaching Purunakatak Station, officials assessed all safety measures, including the loop lines and main lines. With all necessary evaluations completed, the Railway Ministry’s green signal is now awaited, after which train services will commence.
