A group of civil service aspirants visited the Chief Minister’s grievance cell on Monday and submitted a letter alleging that the vacant posts recently advertised by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) are in violation of the government’s mandated provision for the general category seats.
According to a Times of India report, the aspirants claimed that the OPSC, in its OCS advertisement, has fallen short of providing 50% of seats to the unreserved category. As per the reports, it has only allotted 35% of seats to the unreserved category out of the advertised 200 posts.
More Allegations Brought By Aspirants:
The advertisement issued by the OPSC stated that it would conduct the Odisha Civil Services Examination-2025 for 200 government posts. However, the aspirants alleged that out of these 200 posts, only 70 have been allotted to the unreserved category. As such, this number is merely 35% of the total vacancies instead of the mandated 50%.
It is pertinent to note that the notification by the OPSC has also reserved 65 of the 200 posts for women across all categories.
