A woman from the Marshaghai police station area in Kendrapara district has lodged a complaint of misconduct against a police havildar.
The accused, identified as Ajay Sahu is currently posted at Kudangari police station.
According to the complaint, the havildar repeatedly made obscene gestures towards her, persistently expressed romantic proposals, and even attempted to molest her by inappropriately touching her. She further alleged that he tried to malign her character and physically assaulted her, trying to strangle her.
The incident reportedly occurred last Friday near a marketplace in a secluded area, where the havildar allegedly harassed and misbehaved with her. The woman had earlier, seven years ago, been involved in a family-related case at Marshaghai police station.

Based on her complaint, Marshaghai police have registered a case and initiated an investigation. However, no official response from the police regarding the incident has been received so far.
"I have lodged a complaint at Marshaghai police station. Ajay Sahu from Kudanagari police station is often tormenting me. He has been torturing me a lot both physically and mentally. He is repeatedly making obscene gestures towards me. When I didn't respond, he launched a deadly attack on me," said the victim.
"I had a family case at Marshaghai police station six-seven years back and he was posted there at that time. He promised us help at that time and gave his number. He is now repeatedly telling me about his help and asking for favour. He is telling me that he is getting a salary of Rs 1 lakh and he will fulfill all my necessities. He is urging me to agree with him and persuading me to have bad relationship with him. He is also telling me to go with him to the place he wants. When things went out of control, I was forced to lodge the complaint," she added.
