Simultaneous raids at six locations linked to the AEE Dileswar Majhi of Titilagarh R&B Sub-Division under Kantabanji R&B Division in Bolangir district.
According to sources, the Vigilance officials have unearthed massive disproportionate assets (DA) belonging to an Assistant Executive Engineer of the Works Department. During raids conducted across Sambalpur, Brajarajnagar, and Jharsuguda, officers seized at least four houses, nine plots of land, and a full-fledged market complex.
Two houses each were found in Sambalpur and Jharsuguda. In and around Sambalpur city alone, six plots were traced, with a total of nine plots discovered overall. Alongside real estate, officials also recovered Rs 6.57 lakh in cash, 300 grams of gold ornaments, Rs 20 lakh in bank deposits, and a four-wheeler vehicle.
The Vigilance Department suspects the assets to be vastly disproportionate to the known sources of income of the official. Detailed verification of documents and valuation of the assets are currently underway. Further legal action will follow based on the findings.
The coordinated search operation was launched early in the morning based on a warrant issued by the Special Vigilance Judge, Bolangir. Separate Vigilance teams comprising five Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), eight Inspectors, two Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), and supporting staff carried out the raids.
The six premises under scrutiny span Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, and Bolangir districts.
No comments were received from Vigilance officials or the engineer in this regard.
