Chief Minister Mohan Majhi visited a designated tribal village on the occasion of ‘Adivasi Mela 2025’ inauguration in Bhubaneswar, on Sunday. During his visit, the CM explored the replicated tribal homes and participated in meaningful dialogues with the tribals.

The tribal fair, which began today, will remain open to the public until January 16.

“Being from the tribal community, I am also associated with the tribal tradition. The tribals have maintained their culture and tradition. Coincidentally, Adivasi Mela is being organised ahead of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas. The world will get an opportunity to witness tribal culture and traditions during the events,” the CM said while speaking to media.

According to sources, visitors can experience a glimpse of the tribal life through detailed model villages and an authentic market atmosphere. The fair boasts an array of stalls dedicated to showcasing tribal art and culture, alongside a food court offering traditional tribal delicacies and live cultural demonstrations.

This year features as many as 20 meticulously crafted tribal huts and at least 147 stalls stocked with tribal products.

The event is anticipated to not only provide an enriching cultural experience but also to support the artisans in the sale of their crafts, promoting greater understanding and wider appreciation of tribal heritage.

On an additional note, this year’s tribal fair will also feature a dedicated pavilion showcasing the life of Birsa Munda, and adjoining it will be a gallery displaying the tales from the Indian Independence struggle.

To enthral and soak visitors in Odia culture, folk art, and songs, every evening will feature tribal dance and music performances by artistes from different regions of the State.

Incidentally, the Adivasi Mela has been organised a few weeks ahead of schedule this year in view of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas scheduled to kick off in Odisha on January 8, with a host of visitors from across the globe expected to throng the State.
