Karisma Sharma, hailing from Rairangpur in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district, has achieved a remarkable victory on the renowned Indian quiz programme 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' (KBC). She secured a cash prize of Rs 12,50,000 by accurately answering all ten questions in the highly challenging 'Super Sandook' segment, sources said on Sunday.

Hosted by the eminent actor Amitabh Bachchan, KBC is celebrated for its engaging format and wide-reaching appeal. Sharma's performance was met with high praise from the host Bachchan himself, reflecting the contestant's impressive knowledge and composure.
The exciting journey for Sharma unfolded across the episodes aired on 23rd, 27th, and 28th of the month. Experiencing the 'hot seat' opposite a figure as revered as Amitabh Bachchan was described by Sharma as an “unbelievable opportunity”.
With aspirations towards the Indian Administrative Services (IAS), Sharma's academic prowess has been evident from a young age, marked by numerous achievements in various competitions. Following her success on the programme, she looks forward to attending a celebratory family dinner hosted by KBC host Bachchan.

“After three attempts, my name was registered to participate in the quiz programme. As I have been preparing for UPSC exams, I didn’t have to put in any extra effort for the KBC,” the young girl expressed to OTV.
