Police on Wednesday morning claimed to have cracked a mysterious death after the body of a missing minor boy was found concealed in a sack at Gopinathpur village under Champua Police limits of Keonjhar district. Police have launched a detailed probe into the alleged murder.

The deceased minor was identified as Pabana Munda, who belonged to Gopinathpur village. The accused was identified as Gangaram Munda from the same locality.

According to Keonjhar Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), the death centres on a grievous plot. Gangaram Munda allegedly killed the minor with the intention of framing his neighbour Gauranga Patra amidst an ongoing land dispute between them.

The accused had abducted the minor boy and subsequently murdered him, who was the son of a neighbour of Gangaram. He had allegedly used an iron rod as the weapon, which has been recovered by the probe team.

Gangaram executed the abduction during the evening, followed by the murder at night, attempting to strategically place the minor’s body in front of Gauranga Patra’s house to falsely implicate him in the crime, the Keonjhar ASP expressed.

The next morning, we learnt that his body was in a sack dumped by someone in front of a local resident’s house,” the minor's mother Budhuni Munda said.
