The weather department has predicted a dry and sunny Durga Puja. At a time when people were apprehensive of the low-pressure brewing over the Bay of Bengal playing a spoilsport, the director of the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department in Bhubaneswar informed on Friday that there will be hardly any impact of the low pressure on Odisha.
“The weather is likely to be dry in Odisha. One or two places may experience light to moderate rain,” said Manorama Mohanty, director, IMD, Bhubaneswar.

While the IMD issued no warning for rainfall till October 8, light drizzle may be witnessed in some places of Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur and Cuttack districts.
The IMD’s regional centre ascribed the humidity being experienced these days to the day temperature hovering around two to three degrees above the normal temperature.
