In yet another incident of alleged unauthorized surveillance at the sacred Srimandir in Puri, a man from Gujarat was caught on Monday attempting to enter the temple premises wearing glasses equipped with a hidden spy camera.

The individual has been identified as Bipul Patel from Gujarat.

As per reports, the temple security personnel, acting on suspicion, intercepted Patel while he was roaming around the 'Kirtana Chakada' area. Upon inspection, they discovered the hidden camera embedded in his spectacles. He was immediately detained by the police and is currently being interrogated at the Singhadwar Police Station in Puri.

Singhadwar Police has registered a case under the Temple Act 30A, 4C against Patel. Further investigation into the incident is currently underway to find the motive behind the act and whether more people are involved.

Authorities are treating the matter with seriousness due to the strict no-camera policy in and around the Jagannath temple in puri, a high-security zone and a place of immense religious significance.

As per sources, Puri police have received special training to trace hidden spy cameras in glasses.

The incident has sparked concern over the misuse of modern spy gadgets in high-security religious sites, where photography and videography are strictly prohibited.

This incident follows a similar case that occurred a few days ago, where a local youth from Puri was apprehended for trying to enter the temple with spy camera-equipped glasses.
