Godman picked up by police from ashram for ‘kidnapping woman’ in Odisha 

Police on Saturday picked up a self-styled baba from his ashram at Baharbila under Tigiria police limits in Cuttack district on charges of kidnapping a woman. 

As per reports, Kaibalya Jani, the self-proclaimed baba, was reportedly worshipping goddess Durga in his ashram at Baharbila when Dhenkanal Police swooped down on the ashram and picked him up on charges of kidnapping a woman in Dhenkanal district.

During the raid, police recovered several photos of women and incriminating materials from Jani’s vehicle. 

The team that raided the ashram comprised Dhenkanal SDPO, the IIC of Sadar Police Station, the IIC of Bhapur Police Station and the team of Tigiria Police. 

The police have launched a detailed probe.
