A prominent job fraud racket cheating job aspirants of crores of rupees by posing as senior IAS officers from the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department has been busted in Cuttack. Interestingly, the main accused is a woman, who has been on the run after a complaint was lodged in this connection.

Based on a complaint by the victims, Bidanasi police arrested one of the main accused. He has been identified as Daniel Raj from Subhadra Nagar. However, the woman, considered the mastermind of the job fraud racket, remains at large.

As per police, the accused posed as senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers from the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department and promised job and paper leaks from unsuspecting job seekers. They later swindled money from the victims in installments and later changed their mobile numbers.

Not just in Cuttack, the accused are said to have extended their fraudulent activities across multiple regions across the state and duped numerous victims. The scam has reportedly extended its impact across multiple regions within the state.

The matter came to the fore after a complaint was lodged at the Bidanasi police station, detailing deceptive activities costing victims crores of rupees under the false promise of employment via several recruitment examinations.

Police efforts are ongoing to bring all members of this fraudulent network to justice, with several accomplices still evading apprehension. Law enforcement agencies are rigorously pursuing the main suspect and additional accomplices who are yet to be apprehended. Authorities are continuing in their efforts to dismantle this network and bring those responsible to justice.
