Subsequently, the helpless mother filed a formal complaint at the Thakurmunda police station.
Transgender community alerted
Based on the complaint, Thakurmunda Police has started an investigation into the incident. The police have initiated the review of CCTV surveillance footage from the area to gather potential leads concerning the child's whereabouts.
The police have also reportedly alerted the transgender community across multiple districts in an effort to locate the child quickly.
Despite these efforts, there has been no information regarding the child's location as yet. The child and her mother are residents of Mahlarapada in the Karanjia block, who had visited the market for a local fair when the incident tragically unfolded.
Tattoo and 3 stars on neck
The emotional bereavement of the incident serves as a stark reminder of the fragility of child safety in crowded public spaces.
"I had left my child near the transgender for some time. However, both the child and the transgender person were missing when I returned. The transgender person was wearing a pink colour saree at that time. She has a tattoo of three stars on her neck," said the missing child's mother.
