In a meaningful step toward women’s empowerment, OTV Cares sponsored a 45-day skill development program executed by IIG Varsity, which concluded today with a graduation ceremony honouring the achievements of 60 aspiring young women. The program began in the first week of April and offered two vital vocational courses, General Duty Assistant and Front Office Management, each enrolling 30 women.
The ceremony welcomed dignitaries and guests with warmth and pride. Chief Guest Nilanjana Mukherjee, Managing Director of Kalinga Hospitals, graced the occasion, accompanied by Mr. Siddhartha Sankar Rout, Chief Executive Officer of IIG Varsity and OTV Cares.

Marking World Environment Day, the event opened with thoughtful reflections by Adit Jena, Director of IIG Varsity. Addressing the graduates, he reminded them that authenticity is a strength: “People are loved because they are real.” He urged the women to believe in themselves and include societal contribution in their personal resolutions.
Siddhartha Sankar Rout encouraged the graduates to uphold a strong work ethic, noting the visible transformation in their skills and confidence over the course of the program. “Honour the programme by honouring your work,” he said, reinforcing the value of discipline and commitment.
Nilanjana Mukherjee inspired the audience with heartfelt anecdotes, emphasising the importance of honesty and inner strength. “Keep your head high with integrity, and never forget the mentors and instructors who helped shape your path,” she said.
OTV Cares extended heartfelt congratulations to the women, reaffirming its commitment to nurturing individual potential. “This is just the beginning,” the team said. “We are proud to be part of your journey.”

With most graduates already placed or scheduled for interviews, the initiative stands as a testament to the transformative power of education and opportunity. As these women step into the workforce, they carry with them more than just skills, they carry purpose.
In the end, as echoed throughout the day, we must have empathy to have intent. It is empathy that lends meaning to Corporate Social Responsibility, to truly empower individuals, as this program so strongly demonstrated. As Siddhartha Sankar Rout noted, the initiative has reignited hope in at least 60 families, each now looking toward a more secure and self-reliant future.
