BJP woman leader and 3 others injured in group attack in Bhadrak
In an unfortunate incident, a BJP woman leader in Bhadrak reportedly came under a group attack on Friday night.
As per reports, Bhadrak district BJP secretary Malatilata Sahu and three others sustained injuries and have been admitted to Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital.
A written complaint in connection with the incident has been lodged at Chandbali police station.
According to the complaint, Bhadrak district BJP secretary Malatilata Sahu, RTI activist Sarat Senapati, along with two associates, were returning home on two motorcycles at around 8 PM last night.
At that time, a group of miscreants, who were allegedly waiting near Ghanteswar market, launched a sudden attack on them.
The attackers reportedly assaulted them with stones, sticks, and rods, leaving the four people injured. While allegations have been made against the miscreants for orchestrating the assault, police have not yet issued an official response on the matter.
"They called my name and asked me to stop. When I stopped, they abused me with filthy language. Then I asked Prakash to start the bike and leave the place. When we were about to leave the place, Kailash Rout, a local resident, took the motorcycle key. Prashant Rout pulled the bike from the back. Subsequently, Prashant pulled me away from the bike and pulled my hair too. There were around 30 people there, and they attacked us. Ghanteswar police eventually rescued me," said Malatilata.
