It has already been seven years, since both the families were allegedly banished from the village. Sadashiba and Gurucharan alleged that the Kangaroo Court calls meetings and collect fines from the villagers whoever help them (the ostracised families).

“We have been ostracised from the village for the last seven years and fines are being collected from those who offer help like giving us food or provide water,” alleged Basantu Mahanta, a member of one of the two ostracised families.
