With the issue pertaining to the marital discord between Tapaswini Dash (Dimple) and her doctor husband Sumit Kumar Sahu in Berhampur getting murkier with each passing day, all eyes are now set on the ruling of the district judge court to be pronounced today.
Both Tapaswini and Sumit had moved the district court and filed two separate petitions, the hearings of which have been fixed today.
Seeking direction from the SDJM court to allow her to stay in the residence of her husband, Tapaswini had filed a petition on December 17 . Hearing the petition on December 20, the SDJM court had rejected her plea.
Challenging the decision of the SDJM court, Tapaswini’s advocate Deepak Pattanayak had filed a petition in the district court on December 23. The ruling in connection with the petition is likely to be pronounced by the court today.
Prior to this, Sumit’s advocate Devasnan Dash had also moved the district judge court appealing against the order passed by the SDJM court on December 2 and December 9 asking the couple to stay together in a rented house.
The hearing on the petition filed by Sumit will also be conducted today by the district court.
Recently, Odisha Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal has intervened in the matter and directed Ganjam Collector to inquire into it and submit a report after Tapaswini wrote to him seeking justice on December 20.
Yesterday, a video of Tapaswini threatening to end her life if her husband does not accept her as wife had gone viral on social media platforms.
In the video, Tapaswini was purportedly seen crying and pleading Sumit to accept her before she decided to take some extreme step.
She also told that whatever she did was the fallout of her love for Sumit and not money. She also sought forgiveness from her in-laws in the video.
The public saga of Tapaswini Dash trying hard to save her marriage with Dr Sumit Kumar Sahu has been in the headlines across Odisha for over the last one month. On November 22, 26-year-old Tapaswini came dressed as a bride and sat outside the house of Sumit in Brahmanagar locality of Berhampur demanding to be allowed to live in the house with him . Since then, she accompanied by some social activists has been spending days and nights outside her in-law's house.
