Puri: Tall claims of tight frisking at the Sri Jagannath temple in Puri fell flat again after some alleged photographs of the holy shrine’s sanctum santorum went viral on social media platform once again.
A devotee, identified as Abhijit Chandra who reportedly belonging to West Bengal, posted a photo which seems to have been clicked inside the main shrine on his facebook account. The holy trinity along with Lord Sudarshan on the Ratna Singhasan can be seen in the snap.
The devotee who circulated the picture on FB had also tagged a servitor of the shrine, reports said.
OTV team first spotted the photo on the social media and immediately took it to the notice of Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA). The SJTA swung into action by engaging IT experts to examine the post and lodged a complaint with police subsequently.

“A native of West Bengal named Abhijit Chandra had posted a photo of ‘Ratnabedi’ on his facebook account on May 27 with some captions in Bengali. Our IT team examined the post following which we registered a complaint with Singhadwar Police station,” said Jitendra Sahoo, SJTA administrator (rituals).
The FB post has hurt the religious sentiments of devotees as photography of any kind inside the temple is strictly prohibited, he added.
The photo is suspected to have been clicked from a mobile phone. But, it would be clear after thorough investigation weather it was real or photo-shopped, he added.
Notably, entry of electronic gadgets including cameras and cell phone is prohibited into the 12th century shrine.
The fresh photo of the temple’s inner premises being circulated on social media came in the backdrop of a series of similar incidents in the recent past, indicating the serious breach in security at the shrine.
