The sensational Mamita Murder case seems to be gaining political steam day by day. Almost all the opposition parties are now taking a direct aim at none other than Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. The political chorus demanding the resignation of MoS (Home) Dibya Shankar Mishra has changed track.
Now, the opposition is asking the CM to sack the MoS (Home). They are alleging Minister's complicity in the sensation murder case.
Speaking to media persons, the Congress party on Saturday raised questions on the stand of the State government on the case. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is shielding Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra, charged Congress Spokesperson Satya Prakash Nayak.

He further alleged that the Chief Minister seems to be in two minds over his colleague in the cabinet which is evident from Dibya Shankar Mishra's absence in CM's programmes during his Mayurbhanj tour on Friday.
“It is evident that CM did not want to be seen alongside Dibya Shankar Mishra. But if there is more delay in taking action, it will create more troubles for the government. We are demanding that the concerned Minister should be brought under the purview of the investigation,” Nayak demanded.
Nayak further asked the government to make public the CCTV footage of the Secretariat to unravel the number of visits made by the prime accused Gobinda Sahu to the Minister’s chamber. He also demanded the release of all the recommendation letters, the Minister had made in favour of the Sahu’s institution.
“It is evident that the prime accused Gobinda Sahu had enjoyed all privileges from the government. Hence, we are demanding the removal of Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra to ensure a fair probe,” Nayak added.
Opening a new front, four left parties including CPI, CPM, CPI (ML) today staged a demonstration at PMG square in Bhubaneswar demanding an impartial probe into the Mamita murder case. The leaders also demanded removal of Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra from the Cabinet.
“We are demanding a High Court-monitored Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe to bring out the truth. We are not demanding the resignation of the Minister, rather CM Naveen Patnaik should sack him from the Cabinet,” said CPI Leader, Ramkrushna Panda.
Panda further said that if the State government wants the atrocities against women to stop, it has to take stern action in the case. The Left parties have also demanded a financial assistance of Rs 1 crore to the deceased Mamita Meher’s family.
