IMDb India recently shared the list of the most popular celebs for the week in the field of entertainment. This week sprang a surprise as the list was headed by an actress who has just one hit film. She has only done three films, out of which only one is a hit.
Well, it is none other than Medha Shankar, the new national crush of India after the stupendous success of 12th Fail. The tremendous success of the Vidhu Vinod Chopra film has given India another new talent in the form of Medha.
The actress has been named IMDb India’s most popular celebrity for the week ending January 16. Incidentally, the film’s lead Vikrant Massey is at the number 2 spot. Even superstars like Shah Rukh Khan, Prabhas, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, and Deepika Padukone are lagging behind.
Interestingly, neither Rashmika Mandanna nor Triptii Dimri, are not in the top 10 list. Although both of them received rave reviews for their performances in the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer ‘Animal’, they have failed to make it to the top 10 list.
On the other hand, actresses Kalki Koechlin and Katrina Kaif have been ranked no. 4 & 5 respectively for their performances in ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’ and ‘Merry Christmas’. Mrunal Thakur, on the other hand, is at No. 9 for the week, courtesy of the amazing response her film ‘Hi Nanna’ received both in theatres and OTT platforms.
