Actress Rhea Chakraborty, who was under the scanner last year after the death of actor and her boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput, might soon return to the big screen with a Bengali movie.
Rhea has been offered a Tollywood project by National Award-winning filmmaker Rana Sarkar who feels that her potential in Bollywood remains untapped.
Sarkar said that he is in touch with Rhea's team for a film but the actress is yet to give a nod to the project. But Sarkar feels Rhea will be apt for the movie and her potential is not being tapped in Bollywood.
“We have a ready script and she fits perfectly well with one of the lead characters. It is a story of betrayal. Rhea speaks good Bengali and that will help. I have seen her performances,” Sarkar said to OTT play.
“I think Rhea’s career is being jeopardised for no fault of her. She went through a lot of trouble and she is also not getting roles in Mumbai. She has been haunted for being someone’s girlfriend and for being Bengali. I genuinely think she deserves better,” he added.
Sakar on Rhea's birthday wished her and invited her to the Bengali film industry through a tweet. “Happy Birthday @Tweet2Rhea…Shows must go on. Come to Kolkata and join us #BengaliCinema #Tollywood,” he tweeted.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Rhea was last seen in Chehre alongside Emraan Hashmi, Amitabh Bachchan, Annu Kapoor and Siddhant Kapoor among others.
