Paresh Rawal Calls Babu Bhaiya 'Hero' of Hera Pheri
Filmmaker Priyadarshan came up with Hera Pheri in 2000, starring Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal in key roles. With Akki as Raju, Suniel as Ghanshyam aka Shyam and Paresh as Baburao aka Babu Bhaiya, the movie initially met with a lukewarm reception. However, later the movie became a cult and the characters' trio became iconic, especially Paresh's Baburao character. His impeccable comic timing and memorable dialogues still tickle the funny bones of the audience. Notably, the veteran actor also won several ‘Best Comedian’ and ‘Best Actor in a Comic Role’ awards in 2001.
During a chat with a fan on Reddit, Paresh was asked if he was happy to have won these accolades. In response, he pointed out that he was the 'hero' and also hinted that he was sidelined during the awards.
