In a surprising revelation, actress Srinidhi Shetty, known for her impactful role in KGF, disclosed that she was initially considered for the coveted role of Sita in Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming magnum opus, Ramayana.
The film, set to unfold in two parts, has been generating considerable buzz for its grand scale and star-studded cast.

Screen Test and Candid Admission
During a candid conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Srinidhi Shetty confirmed that she underwent a rigorous screen test for the role of Sita.
Reflecting on the opportunity, she recalled preparing meticulously for three scenes, which received a positive response from the filmmakers. "I had heard that Yash was already cast in Ramayana, and at that time, KGF 2 had just been released, creating a significant buzz. I thought, perhaps, Yash and I could play Raavan and Sita, respectively, in the epic saga," she shared.
Losing the Role to Sai Pallavi
Despite her efforts, Srinidhi eventually lost the role to Telugu star Sai Pallavi. Acknowledging the casting decision, Srinidhi expressed admiration for Sai Pallavi, describing her as a perfect fit for the role of Sita. "Sai Pallavi is a great choice, and I would love to see her portrayal in the movie. As they say, every experience opens new doors," she remarked gracefully.
Srinidhi Shetty: Rising Star
Srinidhi Shetty gained prominence after winning the Miss Supranational title in 2016. Her acting debut alongside Yash in KGF: Chapter 1 catapulted her to fame, followed by a successful stint in KGF Chapter 2 and the Tamil film Cobra opposite Vikram. She is currently gearing up for her next release, HIT: The Third Case, opposite Nani, directed by Sailesh Kolanu.

About Ramayana
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana promises to be a cinematic spectacle with Ranbir Kapoor portraying Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Raavan. The film, scheduled to release in two parts, is slated to hit theatres on Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027, respectively.
