After the blockbuster hit Jailer, Tamil superstar Rajinikanth is set to reprise his iconic role in the sequel. After wrapping up Coolie, Thalaivar Rajinikanth has already started filming Jailer 2 with Nelson Dilipkumar. Reportedly, Nelson is leaving no stone unturned to meet the expectations of fans. Currently, the shooting of Jailer 2 is progressing rapidly and the movie promises gripping drama, intense action and a powerful new look for the superstar. Well, according to a recent report, the makers are bringing in a new antagonist which will turn the movie much grander than expected.

Nelson Dilipkumar Ropes In New Antagonist for Jailer 2!
Notably, Jailer featured TK Vinayakan as the antagonist. The movie was a blockbuster, achieving significant box office success. According to the reports, the movie earned over Rs 556 crore worldwide. Apart from the mass presence of Rajinikanth, the special cameos of Shivrajkumar, Mohanlal and Jackie Shroff played a key role in ensuring the film had a multi-regional pull, contributing to its box office collection.
Well, according to a recent report, to make Jailer 2 grander, the makers have finalised Tollywood King Nagarjuna to play the antagonist after considering half a dozen names.
Reportedly, the decision to rope in Nagarjuna was influenced by his fierce portrayal of Simon in Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie, in which he plays the antagonist and will be seen locking horns with Rajinikanth.
While the circulating reports have already excited fans, a formal announcement by the makers is awaited. If the reports are anything to go by, the two powerhouses locking horns would undeniably set the screens on fire.

Notably, Rajinikanth will reprise his role as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. Apart from Rajinikanth, Ramya Krishnan will reprise her role in the sequel. Moreover, Mirnaa, who played the role of Rajini's daughter-in-law in Jailer, has shot some crucial scenes in Jailer 2.

Meanwhile, Shivarajkumar is set to return in Jailer 2 as Narasimha along with Mohanlal. Moreover, Daaku Maharaaj fame Nandamuri Balakrishna is reportedly the newest addition as a cameo. Reports suggest that he will be playing a cop's role in Jailer 2.
Nelson Dilpkumar has already completed two schedules of Jailer 2 in Chennai and Kerala with Rajinikanth. The team is planning to shoot high-end action sequences with the antagonist. The shooting is progressing as per plans and the makers are targeting a late 2025 release window.
