There has been such a strong buzz about Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana that even without any official announcement from the makers or the directors regarding the film, speculations have already named the leading star cast. News regarding who will play what and how the makers are preparing it to be a franchise made in three parts has been so strong that no one has realised that there has not been a single word regarding the same from Nitesh Tiwari, the director, Ranbir Kapoor who is allegedly playing Ram and Sai Pallavi who is rumoured to be playing Sita.
There has been a riot of rumours these past few weeks regarding Ramayana and one that attracted the most attention was that Madhu Mantena and Allu Aravind have left the project and now only Namit Malhotra the CEO of DNEG, the international company known for doing VFX for some of the biggest Hollywood movies will be heading it as the producer. Rumours are also doing rounds that the makers are planning to announce the project during Ram Navmi next month.
According to Bollywood Hungama, the latest buzz says that due to some internal issues, now the movie has been delayed indefinitely because the costumes that were supposed to be made for the leading characters are not lavish enough. Ramayana is one of the most sacred epics for the Indians and any compromise in the presentation of dialogues, set, characters, or clothes will not be accepted by the Indian audience.
These new rumours have made fans wonder whether Ramayana is indeed happening or not. Fans are eager to see Ranbir Kapoor as Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita. Many tabloids have reported that Lara Dutta, Rakul Preet Singh, KGF’s Yash , Sunny Deol and Harman Baweja have been roped in to play important roles of Kaikeyi, Shorpanakha, Ravana, Hanuman and Vibhishan respectively.
However, the movie may not start rolling anytime this year and may go on the floors in 2025.
