Ranbir Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan, Sunny Deol
Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal is creating havoc at the box office and easily is one of the biggest blockbusters of this year. If it continues running at the current pace in the theaters it might soon break many records created by Jawan, Pathaan, Gadar 2, and many other films.
So where does the movie stand among Gadar 2, Jawan, and Pathaan considering its box-office collection?
Fourth highest grosser in recent times
It has been just more than a week since the release of Animal and its net box-office collection in India alone has reached the staggering figure of Rs 338 crore. As per the industry tracker, Sacnilk Animal is already the fourth highest-earning movie in recent times after Jawan, Pathaan, and Gadar 2.
In its first week Jawan’s collection was Rs 367.5 crore, Gadar 2’s collection was Rs 284.63 crore, and Pathaan’s collection was 330.25 crore. The comparison shows that Sandeep Reddy Vanga ’s movie is already ahead of Sunny Deol’s sequel and Pathaan and is poised to soon surpass the record of Jawan. As stated by T Series, the global collection of Animal after a week from its release is Rs. 563 crore.
Since Animal has just entered the second week, it will keep on creating new records and has already become the movie with the highest 8th-day collection surpassing Jawan and Gadar 2. The figures reveal that while Jawan collected Rs 20.1 crore on its 8th day, Gadar 2 earned Rs 20.5 crore. Animal is way ahead of these two movies collecting Rs. 23.34 crore on the 8th day.
Importantly, the movie continues to attract the audience to the theaters with most of the theaters getting a good occupancy of 30.43% during the day and 43.71% occupancy during the night even during the weekdays.
With Dunki and Salaar releasing on December 22, Animal has around 10-plus days to reign supreme in the theaters as it has very easily trounced Meghna Gulzar and Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur.
