Bhubaneswar: In a bid to impart education to students deprived of online classes, the Odisha government has planned to engage budding teachers especially those who are under training, for providing door-step teaching in inaccessible and remote areas in the State.
The under-training students would make house-to-house visits and teach students as a part of their internship programme. The services would be available in villages which are non accessible to internet. One teacher will be engaged to teach a maximum 10 students in a village. They will coach students under the guidance of teacher educators,
School and Mass Education Minister Sameer Ranjan Dash has said that government is planning to recruit 10,000 teachers for the first time through CBT (Computer Based Test) mode.

The government is chalking out strategies for the teaching of rest of the students in other parts of the State. This apart, we are imparting education to students though various online platforms including MadhuApp, Youtube and Radio," Dash said.
The government has started processing to fill up the 4,558 posts in Hindi and Sanskrit and will conduct Odisha Secondary School Teacher Eligibility Test (OSSTET) very soon for the recruitment, Dash said.
Speaking on the scheduled time for publication of Plus Two results, the Minister clarified that the government had declared earlier to publish the results in the second week of August. As per Supreme Court directive, we are trying to announce the results during last week of July," Dash said.
Notably, the Odisha government is mulling to recruit 10,000 contractual teachers in high schools across the State though online competitive examination.
A proposal in this regard has been sent to the School and Mass Education Department by the Directorate of Secondary Education seeking approval.
