Berhampur: A youth was stabbed to death while two of his associates sustained critical injuries following a minor tiff at Uttaramukhi under Bada Bazar police limits here in Ganjam district.
The deceased has been identified as Chandan Pradhan. The incident took place last night when Chandan was gossiping with two of his friends on the road. The accused identified as Sibaram Sethi reached there and started abusing Chandan over personal enmity.
As the altercation grew, Sibram lost cool and stabbed Chandan with a knife. He fell down while two of his friends tried to save him. They also faced the brutal attack and sustained critical injuries.

On being informed police reached the spot and shifted the trio to MKCG Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared Chandan dead. Two friends of Chandan are undergoing treatment and their condition is stated to be critical. Police seized the body for post-mortem.
Accused Sibram Sethy has also been detained and being questioned, police said.
Prima facie, the incident seems to be fallout of past rivalry. Further investigation is underway, police said.
