Minor girl ‘gangraped’ repeatedly, attempted to ‘buried alive’ in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur 

A horrifying incident has come to light from Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district, where a minor girl was allegedly raped and later attempted to be buried alive after she became pregnant. The shocking crime was reported from the Kujang police limits, triggering outrage across the region.

According to police sources, two brothers, identified as Bhagyadhar Das and Panchanan Das of Banashbara village, along with an accomplice identified as Tulu Babu, repeatedly raped a minor girl, resulting in a five-month pregnancy. 

Upon learning about her condition, the accused allegedly attempted to bury her alive in a desperate bid to cover up their crime, sources added.

Sources said that the two arrested accused were working at a nearby mutt and had abused the girl over some time. The third accused is currently absconding, and a manhunt is underway to trace him.

The minor survivor was rescued in time and has undergone medical examination at the District Headquarters Hospital. Police registered a case after the girl’s father lodged a formal complaint at Kujang Police Station.

While two of the accused are now in custody, police have yet to release an official statement on the incident. Investigations are ongoing, and further details are awaited.
