'Human sacrifice' in Odisha: Body of 11-year-old boy found on hill in Bolangir

Panic gripped Jilialiti village under Lathor police limits after body of a minor boy, who was missing from yesterday, was recovered on Friday. The body of the missing minor boy, identified as Somnath Bemal, was recovered from a hill near the village.

Even though mystery shrouds the death of the minor boy, locals suspect it to be a case of human sacrifice as a pit was dug at the spot where the body was recovered. Earlier, an alleged human sacrifice incident was reported some five years back.

However, things are likely to get clear only after a detailed investigation is carried out by police in connection with the death of the minor boy.

As per initial reports, the minor boy had left home on Thursday evening but didn't return. The family launched a search operation but failed to trace him. Later, they approached the local police.
