In a shocking revelation in the alleged kidnapping of four persons, including a youth from Delhi, Berhampur SP on Monday said that all the victims were kidnapped from Bhubaneswar.
Moreover, over five persons are involved in the entire kidnapping case which was orchestrated for a ransom of Rs 2 crore. So far, one of the accused has been detained and further investigation is underway, the SP said.

In an exclusive interview to OTV, Berhampur SP Sarvana Vivek M informed that all four persons were kidnapped from Bhubaneswar and the victims were working for a finance company.
“The victims had come to meet someone to issue a loan against some business project. After kidnapping the youths from Bhubaneswar, they were taken to Ganjam. The kidnappers had demanded Rs 2 crore ransom for their release,” said Berhampur SP.
Unexpected Turn with Snake Discovery
In an unusual twist, a snake was also discovered at the scene where the victims were found. It is alleged that the victims were threatened with a Cobra.
“When police reached the spot, they found some snakes; a case is also being registered as per the Wildlife Act. The snakes have been handed over to the forest department officials,” the SP added.
Earlier, the entire kidnapping incident came to light after one of the victims managed to escape from the clutches of the kidnappers. The victim first sought help from the Chikiti tehsildar who then reported the matter to the Nuagaon police.
Later, a police team carried out a raid and rescued three other victims from a house.
