Mystery shrouds the death of a four-year-old boy whose blood-stained body was recovered from the house of his neighbour at Mundamarie village under Dharakote block of Ganjam district on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Nitesh Patra.
As per initial reports, Nitesh had reportedly gone missing between 4:30 pm and 5 pm yesterday. Subsequently, the family members started a frantic search to trace Nitesh in the locality. Later, some kids in the locality informed the family members that a youth, identified as Srikant Sethi, had taken Nitesh to the terrace of his house.
On getting information, the family members rushed to Srikant’s house and first spotted Nitesh’s slippers. On suspicion, they searched the entire house and recovered Nitesh’s blood-stained body. The family members have alleged that Nitesh was beaten to death.
“My son had gone missing at around 5 pm. After not finding him, we launched a search operation and later one kid informed us that he had seen my son at the house of a neighbour. We had no enmity with anyone,” said the deceased’s father Govind Patra.
Meanwhile, the police have recovered the body and started an investigation to ascertain the reason behind the minor boy’s death.
