Bhubaneswar Zone 2 ACP, Girija Chakraborthy said both Siba and Raka have several cases pending against them. They came under attack by local youths from Kedarpali and Forest Park areas when they were returning after assaulting Singh.
“We have arrested eight persons from either side and two separate cases have been registered in connection with the incident,” said the senior police official.
Soon after the attack, the miscreants left for Bhanjanagar in a car. Later, police intercepted the car and arrested four persons on the spot. Four more involved in the incident were subsequently nabbed.
As three youths are said to be associated with the notorious KBN group, necessary verification in this regard has started. “More arrests are likely to be made in the case and necessary investigation is underway,” the senior cop added.
