Expressing faith on Crime Branch’s probe into the sensational death case of Chittaranjan Palai, an associate of BJD leader Sanjay Das Burma, the family members of the deceased alleged that there are more people involved in his murder.
Speaking to OTV, Chittaranjan Palai’s uncle said, “I have faith on the probe agency. But, the two arrested Jaga and his associate could not have killed my nephew alone. There must be some other people’s involvement in the crime.”
“I urge the Crime Branch to trace the other accused involved in the murder and take stringent action against them,” he added.
The woman, a suspect in the case who underwent a lie detection test at the State Forensic Science Laboratory, has no links in the murder, claimed uncle of Chittaranjan.
“Chitta has never visited the woman’s house, however Jaga could have visited her,” he alleged.
Echoing the same view, Chittaranjan’s wife also called upon the Crime Branch to nab the others involved in the murder case.
“Two people cannot kill my husband. More people are involved in the crime. They should be brought under the purview of investigation,” she demanded.
Notably, the body of Chittaranjan, a native of Sanabandhakera village in Brahmagiri tehsil of Puri district, and a key aide of senior BJD leader and deputy chairman of State Planning Board, Sanjay Das Burma, was found under mysterious circumstances from near Nuanai in Puri district on December 13.
On the basis of the complaint of the family members of the deceased, Sadar police had registered a murder case. On December 15, the Director General of Police (DGP) handed over the investigation to the State Crime Branch.
Recently on December 24, the Crime Branch had arrested Jagannath Sarangi (Jaga) and Ashok Upadhyaya in connection with the alleged murder case.
