New Delhi: The Supreme court has given 3 days time to Maharashtra government and the police to place on record the details of their investigation in connection with actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death.
In a massive jolt to Mumbai police, the top court also refused to grant a stay on the investigation by Bihar police as it heard the petition of Rhea Chakraborty seeking the transfer of case- from Patna to Mumbai - accusing her of abetting Sushant Singh Rajput's alleged suicide in June.
The SC also refused to grant protection to Rhea Chakraborty from coercive action despite Rhea's lawyer asking for the same.
While hearing the plea, Supreme Court judge Hrishikesh Roy also questioned the quarantining of Bihar IPS officer by officials in Mumbai and said that it did not send a good message as all eyes were on the case. Justice Roy asked the officials to ensure everything is done in a professional manner.
He has also asked Maharashtra government and police to put on record the details of the investigation related to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
On the concern raised by the late actor's family about the Mumbai Police destroying evidence, Justice Roy assured that it will be taken care of.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the Centre, informed the apex court that the Central Bureau of Investigation had accepted the Bihar government's request for a probe by the Central agency into Sushant's death and informed that the notification for the CBI investigation is expected to be out by the end of the day on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Senior advocate R Basant, Maharashtra's counsel, informed the top court that they have filed a caveat to put across the point of view of the Maharashtra government in the case.
The Supreme Court will again hear the case next week.
