Bollywood’s Khiladi Star Akshay Kumar frontlined the 2012 blockbuster Rowdy Rathore, alongside Sonakshi Sinha. Directed by Prabhu Deva, the film was an official Hindi remake of the 2006 Telugu hit Vikramarkudu. Produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the movie combined action, comedy, and mass entertainment to deliver one of the year’s biggest hits.

Rowdy Rathore 2 On Cards Without Akshay Kumar?

Now, fresh buzz suggests that Bhansali is gearing up to bring back the much-loved cop saga with a sequel in the works. However, reports indicate that Akshay Kumar won’t be returning as Vikram Singh Rathore this time. Instead, a pan-India star may take on the iconic role in Rowdy Rathore 2.

According to a report by India Today, Bhansali Studios is going all out to turn Rowdy Rathore into a full-fledged franchise.

“Bhansali Productions is actively working on several major projects, including ‘Rowdy Rathore 2’. It’s one of the studio’s biggest franchises with a strong pan-India fan base," claimed a source close to the production.

The report further mentioned that the film is still in its early stages, and the cast has not yet been finalized. But what’s creating major excitement is the buzz that a ‘big pan-India star’ is being approached to step into the police avatar.

“Given the film’s wide popularity, the makers are looking to cast a major pan-Indian star," the insider added.

No Official Confirmation Yet

Notably, this is not the first time that reports of Rowdy Rathore 2 have surfaced. As of now, there has been no official statement from Bhansali Productions or any of the actors linked to the sequel. The project appears to be under development, with more details likely to be announced soon.
