A Classic That Fans Still Crave More Of
For decades, many have pleaded for a remake or sequel to the iconic film. Even Karan Johar has often toyed with the idea. Initially, he revealed that he would cast Ranveer Singh, Sara Ali Khan, and Janhvi Kapoor in a reboot. But now, there’s a twist! Karan has revised his dream cast - keeping Ranveer as Rahul while swapping Sara and Janhvi for Alia Bhatt and Ananya Panday.
Karan Johar Reveals His Modern-Day Rahul, Anjali & Tina
During a lively chat with tennis star Sania Mirza on Myntra’s Glam Stream, Karan shared, “I think Alia [Bhatt] would be an absolutely great Anjali. I think Ranveer Singh would be a great Rahul, and Ananya [Panday] would be a great Tina.”
Sania couldn’t resist a cheeky remark- “And none of them would actually be acting that much,” to which Karan burst out laughing and replied, “I think it would be a great pairing.”
A Nepo Baby Quip and a Honest Confession
With a mischievous grin, Karan added, “I think Tina could be Ananya [Panday], Janhvi [Kapoor], Sara [Ali Khan] - it could be any of the younger nepo babies.” Sania shot back with a playful question, “Have you ever launched someone because their parents told you to?”
Karan, firm yet candid, said, “No. I knew their parents, but no parent ever called me and said, ‘Launch my kid.’ Never. Not once.”
When Sania noted that many might doubt his claim, Karan clarified, “I know they are nepo babies. I know their parents. I’ve seen them grow up in front of me. But none of their parents have ever called me - I have always been the one to call. And let me tell you, I’ve even been refused a few times.”
The Everlasting Magic of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
While the heartfelt story and chemistry made it an unforgettable film, its music became timeless. Composed by Jatin-Lalit and written by Sameer, the soundtrack still dominates nostalgic playlists.
