Aditya Dhar’s espionage thriller Dhurandhar continues its victorious run at the box office, setting fresh records and keeping audiences hooked. Although the film initially drew massive excitement for showcasing Ranveer Singh and Arjun Rampal in striking new avatars, it is Akshaye Khanna who has unexpectedly become the show-stealer. His electrifying entry as Rehman Dakait, and the now-iconic Sher-E-Baloch moment, has taken the internet by storm.

Akshaye’s FA9LA Groove Meets a Throwback Parallel
Akshaye’s magnetic dance to the Arabic hit FA9LA, performed by Bahrain-based rapper Flipperachi, has exploded across social media.
But the internet never sleeps- netizens have now resurfaced a nostalgic clip featuring his father, the legendary Vinod Khanna, dancing alongside Rekha.
For many, the charm and footwork in Vinod’s moves feel uncannily similar to Akshaye’s Sher-E-Baloch swagger.
A 1989 Lahore Moment Reignites the Conversation
The resurfaced footage, also featuring Pakistan’s cricket icon and former Prime Minister Imran Khan, is said to be from a 1989 charity event in Lahore.
In the video, Vinod Khanna and Rekha share an effortless rhythm on stage. Their lively performance has reminded viewers of Akshaye’s viral sequence from Dhurandhar, prompting playful speculation about whether the actor subconsciously drew inspiration from his father.
One user wrote, “Now I understand why everytime I say Akshaye Khanna is so awesome why my mom says you don't know the craze for Vinod Khanna in our times,” while another pointed out, “Both danced in Pakistan (one in real life, other in reel life).”
Choreographer Reveals the Truth Behind the Moment
Interestingly, the film’s choreographer and Akshaye’s co-star, Danish Pandor, recently clarified that the celebrated Sher-E-Baloch dance wasn’t pre-planned at all- it was entirely spontaneous and crafted by Akshaye himself.
