Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain 2.0: Shilpa Shinde on OG Angoori Bhabi's comeback, 'My only concern is...'

After nearly a decade, actress Shilpa Shinde, the original face behind the beloved character Angoori Bhabi, has finally returned with Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain 2.0. Her comeback has stirred nostalgia, excitement, and curiosity among fans who have long associated the character with her unique charm.

Shilpa steps back into the role she made iconic, replacing Shubhangi Atre, who had earlier taken over after her exit. The makers recently heightened anticipation by unveiling a teaser that confirmed her return- this time with an intriguing spooky twist. Amid all the buzz, Shilpa opened up about her journey back to the show and her emotional first day on set.

‘It Was Never Planned’: Shilpa on Reprising Angoori Bhabi

In a candid interaction with Bombay Times, Shilpa admitted that returning to the show was never part of her plan.

Reflecting on her past exit and the circumstances surrounding it, she shared, "After my exit, there was a lot of miscommunication. Over time, relationships evolved, and I believe it was destiny. Jhagde toh families mein hi hote hain. Once I said yes, I did not overthink actions and reactions. I have always followed my heart,"

A Warm Welcome After Years of Distance

Walking back onto the sets after almost ten years wasn’t easy. Given the misunderstandings that followed her departure, Shilpa prepared herself for an awkward atmosphere. However, reality surprised her in the best possible way.

She said, "There were many misunderstandings after my exit, and I assumed some bitterness would still linger. That was the atmosphere I prepared for. Instead, everyone came to meet me in my room and welcomed me warmly." 

The warmth and acceptance she received reaffirmed her belief that the decision to return was the right one.

Keeping Angoori Pure: Shilpa’s Biggest Concern

While the excitement of returning was undeniable, Shilpa revealed that she had one major concern- preserving the soul of Angoori Bhabi. For her, the character’s innocence and quirks are non-negotiable.

"Angoori mein zyada Shilpa Shinde nahi dikhni chahiye. The audience is very sharp, and it is not easy to break their perception. My only concern is that people find the same Angoori in me again. We will definitely try to do better, but the essence has to remain intact," added Shilpa.

Her focus remains firmly on delivering the same Angoori that audiences fell in love with, without diluting the character’s essence.
