The news of her casting has sent fans into a frenzy, especially after Ayushmann Khurrana himself gave her a grand welcome to the franchise.

Ayushmann’s Heartfelt Welcome Note Goes Viral
On Saturday, Ayushmann took to Instagram to celebrate Aneet’s entry into the MHCU. The makers officially announced her casting through a special video attached to the theatrical prints of Ayushmann’s latest blockbuster, Thamma.
Sharing the announcement, the actor wrote, “Welcome to the MHCU, @aneetpadda… Punjabi aa gaye oye!! From one dreamer to another – keep chasing what you want. Nothing is impossible... so proud to see someone from Punjab making us all proud... Can’t wait to see you shine in Shakti Shalini! Onwards and upwards, Aneet.” (sic)
Fans were quick to react to the heartwarming post, praising Ayushmann for supporting new talent.
On the other hand, reacting to the welcome note, Aneet Padda wrote, "Khurrana ji da munda is making waves like always. Thank you so much, it's a little extra special coming from someone I look up to so much. So so grateful for the warm welcome." (sic)

Meanwhile, Ayushmann is basking in the glory of Thamma, where he plays a journalist-turned-Betal alongside Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Paresh Rawal. The film has stormed the box office, earning Rs 65.6 crore in India and Rs 90 crore worldwide within four days of release.
Next, the actor gears up for Mudassar Aziz’s Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, co-starring Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh, and Wamiqa Gabbi. The film hits theatres on March 4, 2026.
