Puri: Satyabadi police arrested two women of a family on charges of killing their mother in law and dumping her body in a pond in Someswarpur village in the district.
According to sources, daughters-in-law Sandhya Maharana and Manasi Maharana, had allegedly planned and executed the murder of their mother in law Minati Maharana.They had later dumped the body in a nearby pond.
Some days back, Minati went missing and a complaint was registered by her family members at Satyabadi Police Station in this regard. However, Minati's dead body was recovered from a pond from behind her house after four days and sent for post-mortem, said sources.

Post-mortem report revealed that Minati died due to choking which led the police to suspect involvement of Sandhya and Manasi in the incident.
The police started investigating into the incident and arrested both the women, who were later produced in Puri Court before being forwarded to jail.
