A shocking case of alleged domestic violence came to light on Wednesday in Odisha’s Bolangir district, where a woman was reportedly strangled to death by her husband in Jamapada village under Sindhekela police limits.

According to reports, frequent arguments had been taking place between the husband and wife over various issues. However, the exact trigger behind the fatal incident is yet to be ascertained. Pushpanjali Rana of Khuntiapada lost her life in the alleged assault, sending shockwaves through the locality.

Accused Arrested, Probe Continues

Following the incident, the accused reportedly fled the area. Police later apprehended Krupasindhu Rana and have taken him into custody. A scientific team has reached the spot and is conducting a detailed investigation to gather evidence and establish the sequence of events.

“The culprit named Krupashindu Rana has been accused of murdering his wife. After receiving information about the incident, a police team immediately reached the spot and began an investigation. We have also engaged a scientific team to examine the scene. As per the latest information, there is a mark around the victim’s neck. The matter is currently under investigation,” said Yashobant Pradhani, SDPO, Titilagarh.
