All About Vivekananda Rock Memorial Where PM Modi Is On Meditation Retreat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, currently on a 45-hour meditation retreat in Kanyakumari, made a serene visit to the Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Tamil Nadu on Thursday evening, marking the culmination of his meditation journey, which concludes on June 1st.

This morning, Prime Minister Modi was attired in traditional clothing, wearing a 'dhoti' and an off-white shawl draped over his upper body.

His spiritual journey began with a visit to the Sree Kanyakumari Bhagavathi temple, where he offered prayers to Devi Bhagavathi Amman, followed by meditation at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial.

In a poignant visual, PM Modi could be seen sitting in a meditative pose on the ground, his hands folded in a namaskar gesture, radiating a profound sense of devotion.

Holding a Rudraksha Mala in his hands, he engaged in prayer, emanating a sense of tranquility and reverence.

Another striking moment captured the Prime Minister performing the Surya Namaskar and offering water to the Sun god, exuding grace and reverence.

The significance of meditating at the Vivekananda Rock stems from its historical resonance.

It was here that Swami Vivekananda, in 1892, embarked on a transformative three-day meditation, leading to his enlightenment.

The site symbolises Swami Vivekananda's spiritual awakening and his vision for India's socio-spiritual advancement.

PM Modi's choice to meditate at Vivekananda Rock reflects his deep admiration for Swami Vivekananda and his teachings.
