Holi, the festival of colours, usually brings families closer- filled with laughter, reunions, and shared memories. For countless working individuals, it is the one occasion that justifies long journeys back home.
However, for one young man, the spirit of Holi turned painfully emotional when a conversation during an online video chat revealed a reality many silently endure.

A Random Call That Revealed Real Emotions
The viral video surfaced after Instagram creator Dinesh Rathod connected with the man through Omegle TV, a random video-chat platform. What began as a casual interaction soon unfolded into an emotional confession that resonated deeply with viewers.
The caption accompanying the video read, “Who says men don't cry. For families, they can do everything,” setting the tone for what followed.
“Yaar ghar pe aane ke liye mana kar rahe hain…”
During the interaction, the man struggled to hold back tears as he shared his disappointment. “Yaar ghar pe aane ke liye mana kar rahe hain, pata nahi kaisi family hai,” he says.
Living nearly 100–150 kilometres away from home, he explained that despite wanting to return for Holi, his family had asked him not to come.
The Weight of Responsibility
As the conversation continued, the emotional burden behind his words became clearer. Speaking about work and financial responsibilities, he said: “Mai kama raha hoon yaar, aisi baat nahi hai, bahut bekar lag raha hai bhai.”
The statement struck a chord online, symbolising the quiet sacrifices made by many earning members who balance duty with longing.
He further added, “Bhai Holi pe kaun nahi jata hai ghar mai bina bataye jaunga toh acha nahi lagega na agar insan samne se mana kar raha hai to.”
Internet Responds With Empathy
Shared on February 22, 2026, the video quickly gained traction, crossing 6.8 lakh views and over 42,000 likes. Social media users flooded the comments with empathy and reflection.
One user wrote, “I hope he makes good friends who love him like a brother.”
Another simply observed, “The pain in his voice.”
A comment that stood out read, “Ye freedom kis kaam ki jisme aap responsibility name ki rassi se bandhe ho.”
Perhaps the most relatable reaction summed it up best: “His kama raha hun yaar was more painful than an injury.”
A Story Beyond One Man
The video has become more than a viral moment- it mirrors the emotional reality of countless individuals who stay away from home, often prioritising responsibility over celebration.
Sometimes, the hardest part of adulthood isn’t distance- it’s earning for loved ones while missing the very moments meant to be shared with them.
